Here is a little bit more about the DANCES OF UNIVERSAL PEACE

From the beginning of time, movement, song and story have brought people together.

The Dances of Universal Peace are part of this timeless traditions. We use simple music, lyrics and movement to touch the spiritual essence within ourselves and to bring us together with others in community celebration.

These dances originated in the late 1960’s with Samuel Lewis, a Sufi teacher and Zen master. He also studied deeply in the mystical traditions of Hinduism, Judaism and Christianity. He believed that if people could gather together to eat, pray and dance, then people in the world could find peace.

These chants and dances celebrate many of the world’s spiritual traditions. Some are more outward joyful while others are more inward and soulful.

Always they honor the divine in self and “other”.

After the sound and music of the dance has stopped, we enter the silence.

This is an opportunity to hear what has been created. In this silence one can absorb the qualities evoked by the dance.

Besides the DANCES OF UNIVERSAL PEACE there is a wide variety of offerings from Biodanza, Shakti Flow Conscious Dance, Yoga, Qi Gong, Sacred singing circles poetry and more.

This is taking place in the village of McGregor where you can enjoy the vibe of the village, the gardens or even having a swim in the dam inbetween.

We have created such a beautiful atmosphere together at the two previous festivals
