DESCRIPTION:  \n\nThe Sacred Music and Dance Festival will be taking place from 31 October to 2 November 2025 in the beautiful village of MCGREGOR\n\n\n\nHere is a little bit more about the DANCES OF UNIVERSAL PEACE\n\n\nFrom the beginning of time\, movement\, song and story have brought people together.\nThe Dances of Universal Peace are part of this timeless traditions. We use simple music\, lyrics and movement to touch the spiritual essence within ourselves and to bring us together with others in community celebration.\n\n\nThese dances originated in the late 1960’s with Samuel Lewis\, a Sufi teacher and Zen master. He also studied deeply in the mystical traditions of Hinduism\, Judaism and Christianity. He believed that if people could gather together to eat\, pray and dance\, then people in the world could find peace.\n\n\nThese chants and dances celebrate many of the world’s spiritual traditions. Some are more outward joyful while others are more inward and soulful.\nAlways they honor the divine in self and “other”.\nAfter the sound and music of the dance has stopped\, we enter the silence.\nThis is an opportunity to hear what has been created. DESCRIPTION:We are very happy to announce that we are hosting the 2025 Lost Trade Fair at The Old School in McGregor on the 27th of September this year!\nOur Lost Trade Fair is a cultural event that celebrates traditional and forgotten trades from our area. The fair will bring together local crafters\, artisans and skilled individuals who will do live demonstrations and sell handmade products directly to visitors.\nBuilding on the great succes of last years event which featured demonstrations such as mud brick making\, thatching\, candle dipping\, broom making spinning of wool etc we are looking forward to expand the Fair this year with several other crafts and artisans\, like felting and leatherwork.\nThe event will also include local food stalls with traditional fare such as potjie and roosterkoek\, locally made jams and pastries.\nOur aim is to display the wealth of talent our valley has\, build community pride and support for our local artisans and craft people.\nAccompanied by live music we are excited to spend an afternoon celebrating our Heritage!
